Shooting a fashion show with a Panasonic GF2 and a 17mm Olympus lens

Have you ever shot a fashion show with a point and shoot like camera ? Me neither, so I thought I’d give it a try since my credentials got denied to shoot a local convention, I figured might as well have fun with whatever equipment I can use. I thought about using my cellphone at first but decided not to. I figured I have this Panasonic handy, so might as well make use of it. The lens that I got with it was an Olympus 17mm lens, no zoom. I had to stand in a spot where there should be enough light for me to shoot and I wouldn’t be disturbed by the other photographers with their regular dslrs and flashes. Plus, it looks funny standing beside them with my compact camera anyway.

Below were the shots that I was able to take during the fashion show at the event. The show was directed by Robin Roxx of Monde Osé. More information regarding the group can be found at their website http://mondeose.com .  It was ok shooting with that camera but I did miss shooting with my gear.
